The most technically demanding element of the project was the gutter replacement. The existing gutters ran along the boundary wall of the building, and upgrading to a larger-capacity system required far more than a straightforward swap. The Tekclad team removed the existing eaves-line purlins, cut off the original purlin cleats, fabricated and installed new purlin cleats directly to the structural steel frame, refitted the purlins, and realigned everything to suit the new gutter profile. Critically, all of this had to be completed within a single working day to avoid leaving the building exposed overnight. As with any older industrial building, the initial survey required careful interpretation. The structure had evolved over time and the as-built geometry needed thorough measurement and redesign before fabrication could begin. Everything fitted correctly first time, without issue.
