Tekclad delivered a complete new build industrial cladding and roof system for an industrial unit in Henstridge, Somerset. Installed across 1,850 m² of roof and 1,000 m² of elevations, the envelope features 14-metre long Tata Trisomet 333 composite panels — lifted into place using a 100-tonne crane and vacuum lifter — with the office area finished in Tata Trimapanel. The eight-week programme was delivered in close collaboration with the architect and steelwork contractor.
THE BRIEF
Tekclad was recommended to the self-building contractor by a long-standing steelwork partner. The brief was to deliver a complete external cladding and roofing envelope for a new build industrial unit at Henstridge — with the design demanding a clean junction between micro-rib and profiled elevation systems, and large-span roof panels installed safely and at pace.
The Challenge
The headline technical challenge was the installation of 14-metre long Tata Trisomet 333 roof panels — substantially longer than standard. These were lifted into position using a 100-tonne crane fitted with a vacuum lifter, allowing safe, controlled placement of each panel with minimal disruption to the steel frame below.
A second technical detail was the junction between the micro-rib and profiled elevation systems, which required careful coordination to deliver a clean, weathertight transition. Both challenges were resolved without programme impact.
