The site comprised a tired 1980s former builders’ merchants, originally finished in metal cladding with curved eaves, which had reached the end of its useful life. Tekclad delivered a full overclad solution across both buildings, replacing the original profile with modern composite panels and bringing the site back to industry-standard performance, ready for its next chapter.
THE BRIEF
Tekclad had worked with this client on a previous project, and they returned for a substantial refurbishment of both buildings at the Bridgwater site. The aim was straightforward: take a worn-out 1980s industrial facility and bring it back to a fully insulated, weathertight, modern-spec standard fit for ongoing commercial use.
The Challenge
The principal technical challenge was the existing steel frame, which had to be modified to remove the original curved eaves before the new cladding could be installed. Working with structural steelwork specialists, new eaves beams were installed to allow a clean, square detail for the composite panel system.
The client also opted for a split colour scheme across the elevations, requiring careful coordination across the two buildings to deliver a consistent finish.
Scope of Works
Works ran across two buildings, with a combined 3,735 m² of roof and 2,770 m² of elevations recladded over five months.

The Outcome
The completed works transformed a tired, uninsulated 1980s warehousing facility into a fully refurbished, insulated industrial site finished to current standards. The split-colour elevations give the site a clean, modern identity, and the new composite system delivers the thermal performance and longevity needed to support another decade-plus of commercial use.
