Agricultural

Agricultural buildings face some of the harshest roofing conditions of any building type, from constant weather exposure to decades of asbestos cement stock still in service.

Agricultural roofing and cladding needs to withstand exposed rural sites with minimal ongoing maintenance, often protecting livestock, machinery or stored produce beneath. Tek Clad Ltd delivers refurbishment, new build, maintenance and repair, and asbestos cement removal for farm and agricultural buildings, working around seasonal demands and site access constraints.

FAQs

Agricultural roofing questions

If your question is not answered here, call the estimating team on 01305 770433.

Do most older farm buildings contain asbestos cement roofing?

Many do, particularly buildings constructed before the 1990s. We carry out non-licensed, non-notifiable removal of asbestos cement roofing and cladding as part of many agricultural refurbishment projects.

What roofing system copes best with exposed rural sites?

This depends on the building's location, use and budget. Fibre cement and single skin metal systems are common choices for agricultural buildings, and we'll recommend the right option following a site survey.

Can you work around seasonal farm activity?

Yes. We plan agricultural projects around seasonal demands and site access, scheduling work to minimise disruption to farming operations.

Do you handle roofing for livestock buildings as well as storage barns?

Yes. We work across the full range of agricultural buildings, including livestock housing, storage barns and machinery sheds, adapting the system to suit the building's specific use.

Can a low pitch farm roof be repaired rather than fully replaced?

In many cases, yes. Localised repairs such as gutter linings or sheet replacement can resolve issues without a full re-roof, depending on the roof's overall condition.
