Cadbury Building A, Sparkford, Somerset

Tek Clad carried out a full commercial roof refurbishment in Somerset at Cadbury Building A, delivering a comprehensive over-cladding solution in Sparkford, near Yeovil. The original 1991 roof had deteriorated significantly, with heavy corrosion at the sheet end laps, failing plastisol coatings, and ongoing gutter leaks that were no longer manageable with routine maintenance.

To begin the upgrade, the team cut back the existing roof tails to gain proper access to the gutters, which had been restricted by the original installation. This allowed the gutters to be cleaned, straightened, and prepared for long-term protection. A Plygene gutter lining system from HD Sharman Ltd was then fitted, supported by new steel brackets to realign and reinforce the entire drainage run. Angled eaves closures were added to improve water flow and give the client easier future maintenance.

Once the gutters were secured, a full over-cladding build-up was installed. This included a new spacer bar system, full roof insulation, and Tata Steel 0.7mm leather grain profiled sheets, finished with detailed flashings across hips, ridges, and valley gutters to ensure a clean, weather-tight finish.

Delivered on schedule and within budget, the project has transformed the building with a durable, insulated, and visually smart roof system — a strong example of Tek Clad’s expertise in commercial over-cladding in the Sparkford and Yeovil area.
